Butterfly Ridge adds a new species to their butterfly list!

After a three-year hiatus, a new butterfly species has arrived at Butterfly Ridge. On August 20, we discovered Delaware Skipper on thistle in our Secret Garden. Delaware Skipper is not especially rare in Ohio, so it is somewhat surprising that this is the first sighting since we started recording observation data in 2015. Delaware Skipper uses a variety of grasses for its caterpillars. Hopefully this cutie is the first of many to come. Our list now stands at 64 species.
